Radio: Her first radio experience was on Radio Oxford in 1977
However, her media career began with stints working on Select, Kerrang, Elle and New Woman. Having made lots of contacts in the music industry Emma sequed into jobs with record companies.
Emma translated her acquired music expertise into radio and was recruited by the BBC's Radio 1 on 25 April 1998 to present the early morning show on Saturdays.
She then moved to the Saturday lunchtime slot which she co-presented with Sara Cox and then took over presenting the Sunday Surgery with Dr Mark Hamilton when Sara was announced as the new Radio 1 Breakfast Show host.
Claim to Fame: Emma fronts the social action campaigns that Radio 1 carries out throughout the year.
