Personal: Born January 30, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan.
Radio: Simpson has been doing the morning show on WPGC-FM, Washington, D.C., since March 11, 1993.
Began his career at age 15 on WJLB, Detroit.
In the mid-1970s, Simpson moved to Washington and began doing mornings on WWRC, a disco-formatted station at 93.9 FM. The station evolved from disco to Urban in the 1980s. (The station is is now called WKYS-FM.)
Claim to Fame: "...the first Urban-format radio personality to have an annual salary over $1 million without being syndicated." (Wikipedia)
Claim to Fame: One of the first black VJs on BET beginning in 1983. He hosted "Video Soul" through 1997.
