Dateline: 11/06/03

By Corey Deitz, About.com

Bobby Hatfield, best known as one-half of the Righteous Brothers pop duo, has died from undetermined causes while staying at a hotel in Kalamazoo, Michigan.  He was 63.

Hatfield and partner, Bill Medley, were preparing to perform in concert at Wester Michigan University when his death was discovered near 7 P.M. Wednesday evening (11/05), shortly before the scheduled appearance.

"You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling", their smash Radio hit from 1964, is considered by many to be the most played song on the Radio, spanning many formats.

Their "Unchained Melody" was cited as the #1 song in KLUV 98.7-FM and 1190-AM's "Top 500 Oldies" and WBIG Oldies 100 FM "Big 500 Countdown".

Hatfield and Medley first performed together in 1962 while in a group called "The Paramours".  The team split to sing on their own and released their first album in 1963.
