Mike Renieri died in Miami. Renieri rose to fame in the 1960s and '70s at WIXY, Cleveland, Ohio where he pioneered a style of morning show which featured a mix of music and telephone calls from regular folks to celebrities.

Manchester, England's Key 103 Radio station was reprimanded by The Radio Authority after holding a sweepstakes where listeners could win £500 cash by guessing when Myra Hindley would die.

A stunt by Birmingham, England Radio station BRMB injured several listeners after they tried to win a prize by seeing how long they could sit on dry ice. Three of the contestants wound up in the hospital for 10 weeks.

A woman who married a total stranger minutes after meeting him during a Radio stunt - and split from him 3 months later, tried matrimony for a second time and married DJ Jezza from Virgin Radio. Rick Roddam from rock station KRZR, Fresno, California, caused a commotion when he had a blow-up doll delivered to a local politician who had been stopped in a red-light district. The recipient was not amused and call the California Highway Patrol who showed up at the station. No arrests, just an embarassed politician.

Two Mobile, Alabama Radio personalities were injured during a celebrity lawnmower race. Shelby Mitchell from WKSJ flipped over and broke her ankle. Kane from WABB hit an orange cone, went flying through the air and had his legs run over by a Mobile councilman.

Two Chatanooga, Tennessee DJs from KISS-FM (98.1)were tossed in jail and charged with creating a public nuisance. Troy Shannon and "Riggs" broadcast a fake announcement telling listeners Eminem would be appearing and putting on a free concert at a local Big Lots. 13 police cars had to deal with traffic gridlock and enraged listeners who police thought might harm the duo.

Cleveland, Ohio DJ, Shane French, told his listeners he had tied a cat to helium balloons and kept thestunt going for two hours. Outraged listeners called the cops. The cops visited the Radio station and convinced French to 'fess up and announce it was a hoax.
