BBC Radio 1 announced today it has signed Vernon Kay as the final part of its changing weekend line-up.
From January 2004 Vernon will front the Sunday 3.00 to 4.00pm slot, presenting a show covering the week's entertainment and showbiz news, with Vernon giving his own particular take on the trials and tribulations of celeb land.
The announcement comes after Radio 1 revealed plans for a brand new weekend line-up that came into play on 20 September.
The Dreem Teem's Spoony presents Weekend Breakfast (Saturday and Sunday, 7.00-10.00am) and Colin Murray and Edith Bowman host Saturday and Sunday, 10am-1.00pm.
Until Vernon joins the network Nemone's show has been extended for an hour (1.00-4.00pm)
Vernon said: "I am thrilled and overjoyed to be joining such a great station and team at Radio 1."
Andy Parfitt, Controller, Radio 1, said: "Vernon is a magnetic presenter who'll be bringing a massive dose of energy to the Sunday afternoon show.
