Air America Radio To Be Back On In Chicago Today Thanks To Judge

Dateline: 04/16/04

By Corey Deitz, About.com

Air America Radio, the fledgling new liberal network, gets back on-the-air in Chicago today, one day after having its plug pulled over a contract dispute with the owner of the station the network is leasing air-time from.

Yesterday, a New York State Supreme Court Justice, Marylin G. Diamond, issued a restraining order requiring WNTD/950AM to resume broadcasting the Air America Radio network feed.

Air America Radio says it is pursuing a remedy with the Los Angeles station, KBLA/1580AM, where its programming was interrupted as well and hopes to be back on-the-air there soon.

This saga began on Thursday when the owner of both stations dropped the network feed after alleging a payment check had bounced.
