PA News is reporting a Birmingham-based radio station, BRMB, has had to pay “substantial” compensation to a woman who was injured during a stunt sponsored by the station.

Helen Terry spent 3 months in a hospital for severe frostbite to her buttocks after participating in the "2001 Coolest Seats in Town".

During the promition, Terry sat on dry ice for an extended period of time and suffered extensive damage to her buttocks, resulting in permanent scarring.

For her trouble, she won tickets and backstage passes to a music festival. A second contestant from the same stunt has also settled with the radio station but a third contestant has yet to reach a settlement.

BRMB did admit liability in all three cases. In January of 2003, the station was also fined 15,000 British pounds by the Health and Safety Executive. BRMB is owned and operated by the Capital Radio Group.
