1. A secret agreement between two or more people to perform an unlawful act
Howard Stern, recently removed from 6 Clear Channel radio stations, says George Bush wants him off-the-air. He said, "I might be taken off all the stations very soon, and my last words to you are 'G.W.B.
Bubba The Love Sponge, the Florida-based air personality recently fired by Clear Channel Communications, also blames his misfortunes on the President and said, "I think George W. Bush got me fired...
The inference from both is simple: a conspiracy within the conservative Bush administration (supported by the religious right no doubt) is exerting pressure on Clear Channel to get rid of Stern, a political detractor and Sponge, a verbal fornicator.
Before we accept this possible paranoia as fact, lets consider both sides of this argument.
The Pros:
1. Not to be an alarmist, but, initially they may be right. After all, Janet Jackson, the woman who started this all, did expose her RIGHT breast for 2 seconds during the Superbowl half-time show and not her left. I think this speaks for itself. (right breast = right-wing)
2. Another thing: two letters in the name Bush - sh - are often used to quiet people as in Sh....stop talking. Again, an obvious piece of evidence that Bush is trying to shut Stern and Sponge up forever. I mean, it couldnt be any clearer.
The Cons:
1. Lets also remember that Clear Channel, the company which recently removed Stern from 6 stations, grew to over 1200 stations directly because of the Communications Act of 1996, which passed during the liberal Clinton administration.
2. Given that, how could the liberals allow such an allegedly conservative company like Clear Channel get all these stations?? One would think Clear Channel would lean more to the left than the right in gratitude. So, then, why the accusations that Clear Channel is in the Bush administrations back pocket and is ready and willing to dump Stern or Sponge at the behest of Bush?
