Sirius Satellite Radio has made changes to its subscription programming with the announcement of 12 new entertainment, talk and music streams.
In addition, 8 streams have been dropped and several others have been moved to new locations. The new streams and their number include:
Our Time/131 - touted as "America's only radio station for women"
Cracked Up Comedy/146 - featuring comedy suitable for "the whole family" including comedians like Jerry Seinfeld, Billy Crystal, Monty Python and Steve Martin.
Raw Dog/147 - uncensored comedy from the likes of George Carlin, Margaret Cho, Cheech and Chong, Eddie Murphy, Chris Rock and others.
Radio Catolica Mundil/158 - featuring "live call-in shows, an informative teaching series, daily devotions, Church events, and musical presentations in Spanish."
Sirius Love/3 - "soft pop music from four decades."
Classic Vinyl/14 - classic rock from the formative years between the mid-60s and late '70s.
Classic Rewind/15 - the most recent classic rock from the late '70s through today including The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Doors, and more.
Buzzsaw/19 - "hard edged classic rock" with artists like AC/DC, Ted Nugent, Rush, Aerosmtith, Van Halen, and more.
Faction/28 - a mix of hard rock, hip-hop, and punk.
Chill/46 - electronic-based music with artists like Moby, Massive Attack, and Groove Armada mixed with Coldplay, Radiohead, Dido and others.
Sirius Pops/86 - a greatest hits type of classical stream
Tropical/92 - Caribbean dance rythms
In the process, Sirius "retired", as they say, the following streams: Planet Rhyme, House Party, Vista, Soundscapes, Sirius Sessons, Radio Amigo, Radio Mujer, and A&E.
In addition, the satellite radio provider has enhanced several streams and moved the locations of others.
