Comedy Central Radio to Launch on Sirius XM

They laughed when the folks at Comedy Central said they would do a radio show. And that's a good thing. Sirius XM Satellite Radio and Comedy Central are in the midst of creating Comedy Central Radio, scheduled to begin in Spring of this year. (Graphic: Sirius XM Radio)

This 24/7 channel will feature exclusive Comedy Central stand-up and performances from the channel's archives including "Comedy Central Presents," "Premium Blend," roasts, and specials. In addition to the library of material already available, Comedy Central Radio will offer new performances from broadcasts and clubs along with comedian hosts during on-air specials.

In a press release with two separate statements by a representative from both Comedy Central and Sirius XM, I can accurately report both used the word "excited" to express their feelings about the venture. I have no reason to doubt them.

My wife has Sirius XM and for the life of me, I can’t understand why anyone would pay for such garbage. Every station seems to have a rotation of anywhere from 10 to 20 songs that keep repeating. Maybe now that CC will be there, they’ll do the same thing with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert…which, come to think of it, might not be bad at all.
