A report from miamiherald.com says radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge "...took the stand in his own defamation trial in Tampa." (Photo Credit: BRN/Bubba Radio Network)The trial's been going on since Monday. The Love Sponge was dragged into court in a civil matter between him and radio personality Todd "MJ" Schnitt.
Schnitt claims the Love Sponge called his wife a "whore" on the air and accused Schnitt of taking "plugola." Plugola is where a deejay or host takes products or services in exchange for on-air plugs about the business or service he received the stuff from - without disclosure and outside normal station business. Schnitt says he did not.
Lawyers for the Love Sponge say their client's comments was protected under the 1st Amendment.
The jury is not yet out...but, it's amused.
