The John and Ken controversy is still a hot discussion in the Los Angeles area and beyond. The KFI-AM 640 hosts were suspended on February 16 "...for making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston," according to the station's website. They are scheduled to return Monday, February 27. (Screenshot: KFIam640.com)
The radio hosts have since apologized: "We made a mistake, and we accept the station's decision. We used language that was inappropriate, and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston," said John Kobylt in a prepared statement.
Jorge-Mario Cabrera, writing at latino.foxnews.com said, "...when John and Ken yell fire in a crowded multicultural city like Los Angeles, they are no longer simple antagonists, they are dangerous."
Cabrera also lashed out at KFI's parent company, Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, saying it had been "...complacent and complicit in the distribution of fear-mongering, race-baiting, and xenophobic propaganda for two decades."
Ironically, John and Ken are also getting blasted from within the biz by talk show host and podcaster, Tom Leykis. He recently called them "...total f***ing pu**ies" for apologizing, according to ocweekly.com.
Well, sometimes you just can't win.
