By November 19, 2010

Follow me on:

WPHT/Philadelphia - The Big Talker 1210 AM - has announced a major shakeup in its programming day. The syndicated Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck officially lose their place in the station's lineup as of January 3rd. (Graphic: CBS Radio)

1210 AM is importing Chris Stigall from a news-talk station in Kansas City (KCMO-AM) to do mornings from 5:30 - 9:00 a.m. Michael Smerconish is leaving mornings to focus on his own syndicated show but will be heard later in the day.

Dom Giordano will be on from 9:00 a.m. - 12 Noon followed by Rush Limbaugh, Noon until 3 p.m.

In the new 1210 AM lineup, Smerconish will be heard from heard 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. with the first hour devoted to the local Philadelphia listeners. This will be effective January 17, 2011.

In a news release, CBS Radio management said Stigall was "a bona fide star" and were "thrilled" Smerconish would "remain an important voice on the station."

(12) Johnny Truth says:

Americans need to wake up the fact that Beck is simply another opinion pushing charlatan who is a product of mormon cult theology that he mixes with parts of Catholicism and his personal core as a dry alcoholic. And for the record, he is a Mormon and not a Christian. The two are not the same and this makes Glenn Beck one very twisted screwed up moron who sold his soul to the lowest common denominator of personal stupidity. The religion of Islam has more in common with Christianity than the mormon cult.

The truth about Beck is that he a dry mormon alcoholic who never got the counseling required for alcoholics. Because he does not possess a single ounce of journalistic integrity, he is the perfect abortion poster child for Fox Network. Considering the fact that Becks personal views are extreme Marxist Libertarian, his form of patriotism is false and he is a person who has no real substance or depth.

Glenn Beck consistently demonstrates all the unstable behaviors of a dry alcoholic which include grandiosity, judgmentalism, intolerance, impulsivity, ADD, indecisiveness and blindness to truth. In short, Beck, Limbaugh, O Reilly, Hannity, Palin, O Donnell, Coulter and others like them frequently pervert truth, history, facts, religion and the US Constitution when they open their big mouths. Beck is simply part of a national league of pseudo-conservative idiots who make money off of idiots who occupy the lowest levels of society.

(13) Patricia Dietz says:

What a bad move Glenn Beck is #2 and Hannity #3, and you give Mr . Big Head Smerconish more time. I haven’t listed to him since he fell in love with Chris Matthews and MSNBC. Not surprized though the station is owned by CBS WHO DEFINITELY SLANTS TO THE LEFT.

(14) AdamKC says:

Philly people – let me just tell you that Kansas City is CRUSHED this morning to be losing Stigall! Telling you right now he’s better and more talented than Beck or Hannity. (Never listed to Smerconish) May sound crazy but believe me, you are getting an upgrade here!

Stigall is able to mix local with national, and he’s absolutely hilarious while doing it. Honestly living in KC I enjoyed his show much more than Rush. If you don’t like him, please send him back soon!

November 19, 2010 at 11:02 am
(15) C4L Guy says:

To Philly listeners:
Don’t listen to AdamKC – Chris Stigall is a douche who talks out both sides of his mouth and will constantly contradict himself on similar issues. He’s nothing more than a political shock jock who says outrageous stuff for the mere purpose of gaining ratings.

Most of us here in KC are glad to be rid of him.

(16) Marge Carroll says:

You have just lost two very reliable listeners. My husband and I tune into Glenn every morning. It sounds to me like someone got to you.

November 19, 2010 at 11:35 am
(17) Robert says:

Chris Stigall was a wacky FM DJ on 101 the Fox and then 97.3 the Planet both in Kansas City. He started his career in AM talk on Hot Talk 1510 KCTE in Kansas City. The station had envisioned a Letterman type show on the radio. Union Broadcasting fired Scott Vorhees(now in Omaha) and brought on Stigall.

Stigall quickly changed the agenda and turned the show into a radical right wing talker. With him being on a small station he got away with it for a while until the folks at Union Broadcasting actually started listening and paying attention. Once they realized that his show had taken a different road than what they envisioned they fired him.

He then went to work for Sam Graves for a year and then popped back up in KC radio on 710 KCMO. He has a great voice and nice presentation but he is the world’s largest hypocrite and if you don’t agree with what he is saying he will just hang up on you or talk louder. He is just a Glen Beck wannabe with a Letterman type delivery. He interned on the David Letterman show in college.

He is very Religious and lets it control his thoughts at times. He tries to bring Religion to Government and Politics which is a big turn off to most. In 2009 he hosted the tax day protests at Liberty Memorial in KC and made his whole speech about God. People like him don’t realize that God should stay out of Politics and Government. That is what our Founders envisioned.

He will be entertaining but don’t take him seriously. He is just another radical nutcase that doesn’t inform himself on all sides of the issues. If you like Glen Beck, Sarah Palin, etc. you will enjoy him. If you don’t you will be in hell.

November 19, 2010 at 11:48 am
(18) Boris says:

Johnny Truth wouldn’t know the truth if it hit him in the face. Obviously too much MSNBC combined with a liberal education!

Is the only way you can denegrate Glenn Beck by bringing up the point that he once had a drinking problem or condemning his Morman beliefs? Read the Constitution sometime; I think it gives us the freedom to believe as we see fit Johnny. And being a PC leftist I noticed how you just had to give some praise to Islam. I don’t recall the last time any Mormans stoned someone to death.

Why don’t you challenge what Glenn Beck has to say instead of condemning his religion or his past? Why? Because you liberals can’t deny what he has brought to light and would prefer to keep these things in the dark just as the media outlets you choose to follow. All you can do is whine.

And by the way, what is a “Marxist Libertarian”? On what leftest blog did you read that one or is that from one of your leftist professors?

“grandiosity, judgmentalism, intolerance, impulsivity, ADD, indecisiveness and blindness to truth” ….sounds like an Obama speech to me.

Keep telling yourself how smart you are Johnny, the American people know who the real idiots are!

November 19, 2010 at 11:54 am
(19) AdamKC says:

Okay, the “he’s very religious” comment is just absurd. If you think of Rush Limbaugh as “very religious”, then you’ll probably think that about Stigall. I tend to be a pretty non-religious, libertarian-leaning conservative and I loved his show. If I had to pick a topic that he focuses on more than any, it would probably be fiscally conservative principles. If he were some extreme religious right guy I would have tuned out.

My advice to Philly listeners would be this: Just tune in and give it a try. However much you love Beck or whomever, remember that there was a time earlier in Beck’s career when somebody else got bumped for his new, emerging show. And I’m sure that whomever they replaced had loyal fans who swore they wouldn’t ever listen again. Time marches on, new people come on the scene. Stigall is one that is worth giving a chance.

November 19, 2010 at 2:27 pm
(20) Son of Liberty says:

If one examines this move by this CBS owned station, one concludes that these changes are in response to the beatch slapping the left-tards took in the last election with CBS being the head cheerleader right back to Dan I’D Rather Not Live in the Truth.

A private profit oriented entity has a responsibility to its employees, advertisers, shareholders to maximize profit. With this move they are effectively telling them to too bad, our politics are more important and it will not take long until their ratings go the way of Air Head America.

Sorry Johnny Truth and Adam, you are as wrong as El Presidente is on just about everything, including who he chooses to consider who his real father is!

I don’t know of Stigall but I can tell you this, this station is going to lose a huge % of their audience, its economic fact which is reflected in the last election.

But that is what I expect anymore, true believers who are swimming in the river denial. You people have sold your souls and sorry, no returns.

November 19, 2010 at 2:32 pm
(21) Scout says:

Obviously, not a business move. Ratings = revenue, and both Beck and Hannity reel in strong ratings for 1210.

Maybe 990 could drop Medved for Beck. That would be interesting.

Definately a political move.

(22) Bucks Patriot says:

(24) SmarterThanYou says:

Are these morons serious?? They are glad Smerconish is staying??? I stopped listening to his show years ago when it became apparent that he is nothing but a self absorbed pontificating RINO. Glenn, Rush and Sean were the only saving graces for that station solidly anchoring it in the ratings arena. WPHT, your complete idiots, or liberals, same difference. Lost me forever due to your stupidity.

November 19, 2010 at 5:31 pm
(25) Misty Hofmeister says:

They have lost me! It is a sad day when our freedoms are being stolen right out from under us. Thank goodness for internet streaming, but the car ride will now have to be back to music for me. I will not even listen to Rush on 1210 anymore, can pull in other stations to hear him.
Bad move all you media geniuses.

November 19, 2010 at 5:40 pm
(26) jdimatteo says:

Michael broke the news this morning (the part which relates to him) and I searched the web for the details on 1210′s changes.

While this doesn’t seem to be a great ratings move, I admire 1210 for their loyalty to Michael. He’s level-headed and very likable. All the right-wing listeners started hating him when he voted for Obama and they don’t appreciate his middle-of-the-road approach. They don’t understand that he’s not moderate just to “be a moderate,” he actually sees different issues in different ways… and most of them right-leaning. But politics has become so polarized that the right has turned on him. Neither “side” can see the other’s point of view. Michael puts himself beyond all that… I find him quite refreshing. I will miss hearing him in the morning.

I can barely stand to listen to Beck and Hannity anymore. Beck is so paranoid and obsessed with God, and Hannity just shouts down ever caller who disagrees with him. These two will surely find a place in Philly talk radio. They have 990 written all over them.

As for I hear Chris Stigall, I hear the mixed reviews and, being open minded, I’ll certainly give him his shot.

November 19, 2010 at 6:42 pm
(27) Smokachilpil says:

Has the radio station made any comment about why therye changing? Sounds like its all still a conserv lineup. Maybe the Beck and Hannity ratings suck. That would be the more likely conclusion. OReilly lost a lot of stations cause his ratings were bad. Not because of a left wing conspiracy.

November 19, 2010 at 6:51 pm
(28) Maggie says:

Well, I suggest you listen to my show because I redistribute the truth one word at a time. Go to my website http://www.theunsolicitedopinion.com to find out times. I am heard on WNJC 1360 AM. And for all you leftists drones reading this…you won’t like what I have to say so just march on to your enslavement and the rest of us will keep on fighting your stupidity.

November 19, 2010 at 9:20 pm
(33) Howie says:

Beck I can take or leave but Hannity is a completely partisan, hypocritical clown. Dude has never admitted being wrong and harps on the same ridiculous stuff over and over and over. It’s hilarious when someone like Pat Buchanan comes on. He pretty much blows up all of Hannity’s inane blatherings but Hannity just keeps on rolling, refusing to concede a point even to someone on his side.

He tells Libs that they only spout lefty talking points when he does nothing but the same for the right.

A hypocrite who makes “energy independence” a cornerstone of his policy…but drives TWO Escalades.

Total joke.

That being said, from a business standpoint, the station will lose a whole lot of Great American(TM) listeners.

November 19, 2010 at 9:55 pm
(34) Frenel D. says:

Actually, taking the Obama loving Smerconish out of the morning lineup brings a stronger freedom message to the Philly market. I do not understand the Beck and Hannity move, since the new crew will cost the station more money. In any case, this is a win/win deal for Smerconish and the people of Philly. That’s because he will have more personal study time to focus his shiny skull on his socially liberal, anti-God message while the audience will hear the ideas of the morning patriots who will discuss the real needs of Philly.

November 19, 2010 at 10:58 pm

(36) Mac Hunter says:

Dropping Beck wasn’t too smart. Is Philly a liberal town or something? I know that some democrats want to silence him, but why would a station fold like that unless it’s about cost of programming? Beck is on top of things and helps keep America on it’s toes concerning some pretty dangerous moves from left America and the current administration.

(39) chris t. says:

This is your attempt to stop free speech and control what is said on the airways. You should be ashamed. This will not stop the conservative movement but only make it stronger. This is a sad day in America when a radio station stops free speech whether it is conservative or liberal. I will never listen to 1210 again.

(55) Boris says:

To all the Stigall listeners and supporters….It is not about Stigall. He may be the greatest talent alive but unfortunately he is entering this market at a great disadvantage.

WPHT has left a sour taste in the mouths of all those who have held it in such high esteem all these years as a CBS station that had the courage to program for profit by going against its’ parent company’s liberal politics. Either orders have come down from on high or a new progam director is flexing his/her muscles. Either way the majority of WPHT listeners will abandon the station (and hopefully its’ sponsors) in droves. WPHT is a powerful station but these changes will create a vacuum that another station will eventually fill with true conservative programming.

This station is in the process of betraying its’ base and its’ base will do likewise.

I can only imagine what life would be like to have to work or live with him. I cannot listen to him so any replacement is worth a listen. By the way WNTP dropped Mark Levin recently and Laura Ingraham is still not available anywhere in this area. Is there a new FM station waiting to take over the area? Smerk would be so sad…

(73) LuvGlenn says:

Government controls your money in life and death, food, education, mortgages, your medical matters, the internet and TV/radio.

Another example, Big Talker 1210 is moving to State Controlled media just like the rest of the TV/radio/internet.

Just like any business / government the progressive liberals touch, it will fail.

(74) ray says:

i just found out Glenn will no longer be on The Big talker. This is a very sad day for all of us in the Tri State area.
I have listened to Glenn Beck on 1210 am for over 8 years.
Why WPHT is droping him and Hannity is no supprise when u take into acount gorge the emporror Sorroce is having a fit about the lite Glenn is putting on him & his liberal buddys.
I will start sending e mails to all of 1210s sponcers and let them know how sad it is they r supporting a station that wants to stiffel the teachings of Glenn & Hannity.
I will also inform them I hope they can survive without my support because I will no longer be tuned to 1210am and that i wll make a list and keep it in my pocket just to remind myself who realy supports freedom of speach.

(76) Stephen says:

Who is the jerk (s) that made the decision to drop the #2 & #3 radio programs in America?
You are not the big talker….more like little wusses.
Smircanish is a LIBERAL, who only has HIS interests, at heart, all the while pretending to be “enlightened.”
Anyone who would waste our time twice, with interviews of ODAMOBAMA, is only feathering his on ego, and is sucking up to those who will fuel his own arrogance.
He is not a radio personality, he is a hustler, and you bought the service….
This station is a sham and is becoming like the old 98.5FM.
It is a losing station.
Hannity should NEVER come to Philly again, and I am switching to 990 FM, at least they do not pretend tp be anything but what they are. Conservative radio.

Your socialist attitude and cowardice is revolting and un-American. Tell everyone including sponsors, they will not be getting mine, or others like me, our business.
Anything to ruin your decision.

Oh yes, YOU ARE the drive-by media….State Radio….slogans??? if the shoe fits……limp.
Farewell Wusses.

(81) Don says:

My car & office radios are on 1210 full time until Sunday, 1/2. Now I just need to find the new stations for Sean and Glenn in the DelVal region and switch.

I don’t understand the logic to dropping the #2 and #3 radio talk shows. I would imagine that it is mainly a money issue in the stations mind but then gain #2 and #3 can get you higher advertising rates.

Anyway — I will be finding a new radio home this weekend.

Good Bye 1210 Big Talker.

December 30, 2010 at 6:32 pm
(82) Bob says:

I’ll be switching away from 1210 due to the change in the program. smerconish = yech !!

December 30, 2010 at 6:38 pm
(83) bhholberg says:

While it is true that the station management leans left, that has nothing to do with it. A local morning show and midday show gives that station more commercial airtime to sell from 6AM-noon. Syndicated shows have very little room for local advertising, severely limiting the station’s ability to make a living. They had only a tiny bit of time to sell 6 AM-6 PM. Now they will have more. I will miss the shows, but there is nothing nefarious at work.

December 30, 2010 at 7:09 pm
(84) Ron says:

(86) Peg says:

Thank God for my Sirius and internet radio!!! I’m a major Beck fan and I am not ashamed to say that I have been Hannitized, also. A pox on PC 1210 with the Obama-loving,No Labels, no principled Smerconish! Hate him and now I hate 1210. Hope they go under from this stupid decision.

December 31, 2010 at 12:54 pm
(87) COL Bill in NJ says:

You must be losing your corporate minds. Every radio I have at home and in the cars is tuned to 1210. How can you cancel the #2 (Hannity) and #3 (Glenn Beck) talk hosts in the country for a Kansas CIty Import in Beck’s slot and repositioning Michael Smerconish to Hannity’s slot? I know both Michael Smerconish and Sean Hannity personally, and to paraphrase from a VP debate years ago, “I know Sean Hannity, and Michael, you are not Sean Hannity.”

I guess it is WOR and WNTP from now on!! What happened to “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it?? It IS broken now. I was a loyal listener. RIP “WWDB” and now RIP “WPHT.” Good Bye Big (wind bag) Talker.

December 31, 2010 at 5:46 pm
(89) COL John in NJ says:

Big mistake. You bring in a guy from Kansas City to get a more local flavor?

You guys just blew it. Smerconish isn’t going to have his audience anymore, Dom is going to lose his. And for what? Is there a new programming czar that is telling you lousy ratings are good? How much money did you get from Soros to do this?

Dumb idea. might as well just Sinatra (from Jersey) 24 hours a day.

December 31, 2010 at 9:14 pm
(90) Major Tom says:

As Hannity often says, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” Another station WILL pick up Beck and Hannity; it’s inevitable. They’re huge personalities! I’ve seen the same thing happen in other markets. Often Beck, Rush, Hannity (and Savage, Boortz, Levin, etc.) are on two or more different stations, but the loyal listeners are willing to change stations to listen. Just like TV, you don’t find all your favorite shows on one channel. So what if 1210 goes down the tubes? Their loss will be another station’s gain. Maybe this is a golden opportunity for some struggling FM station to make a name for itself!

Remember, too, that your input can go a long way. Want 990 (or someone else) to air your favorite shows? Let ‘em know…in big numbers!

January 3, 2011 at 9:01 am
(96) the Baron says:

I’m curious to see how it works out for 1210. I only listen to them for the Phillies games and Sid Mark’s Frank Sinatra shows, anyway. Hannity is too superficial in his discussion of current events, and I’ve always thought Glenn Beck is an idiot (remember when he was still asking, back in 2006 to 2008, “Can’t we all just get along?”, ignoring the fundamental philosophical differences between the American Left and our founding principles). I listen to 990 WNTP, which carries Bill Bennett, Dennis Prager and Michael Medved. There is much better content in those three shows, than in Hannity, Limbaugh and Beck.
990 has made a similar move, however, dropping Mark Levine’s show from 6PM to 9PM for a local financial analysis show.

January 3, 2011 at 10:20 am
(97) Don says:

I too am dismayed at the new line-up. I stopped listening to the MS and Greg show (TC seemed good) when he for some reason endorsed the current president after listening to his speech at the Constitution Center. I will never understand why he did so. I guess he was sucked up into the rage at the time which bothered me since he should have been politically savvy enough to see through the fog.

I will give Chris a try, but I am dismayed at the loss of Glenn and Hannity. I too will likely switch to 990 for the afternoon drive home.

Perhaps CBS had an influence in the decision, but it is really hard to understand these decisions….

January 3, 2011 at 2:40 pm
(98) nurseynurse says:

I quit listening to smirconish a couple years ago. All I listen to on 1210 is Beck and Hannity – every day religiously. Guess I’ll be listening to country music instead – 1210 is now banned in my car. CBS – you’re all idiots.

Never was a big fan of Beck, but I think trading Hannity for Smerconish is a mistake. I certainly have no interest in listening to Smerc, so I can guarantee at least one less listener.

January 3, 2011 at 5:22 pm
(101) Donna from South Jersey says:

Say it isn’t so. I wasn’t in the Car today but will not be tuning into the new Station format. How could you get rid of Hannity and Beck? I saw on my local TV CBS station the new guy on the block. He was blowin’ in the wind. Philly you are doomed.
Time to listen to Sports Radio. Maybe another radio will pick up the loyal listeners. Please, some another station out there if you are reading, pick us up. !! I can always listen to them online, but it was one of my favorites in the car. WIP and ESPN, here I come.

(102) Bill Keating says:

My wife and i have 1210 on from 9am untio 6pm. That will change now.. We will no longer be tuned to 1210. We will be tuned to 990 from 6am until 9am and then switch to 1450am… Someone really dropped the ball on this move…

January 3, 2011 at 8:11 pm
(103) mike says:

You have just lost another two more listeners and you will lose many more. I hope your ratings go down severely, which they probably will, now that you have joined up with the people in this administration who want to take away free speech (from conservatives of course not liberals). Replacing Hannity with smerconish is moronic to say it mildly.

This is an outright political move of the far left….The problem, besides the obvious, is that it will not work for you! Can’t wait to see you fall!!

January 3, 2011 at 8:17 pm
(104) Gene says:

Guess it’s back to 77 WABC on the drive home or CD’s. After giving Dom lousy time slots he got a good one but the station looses BIG to keep loyal listners who want to hear these TOP rated programs. Guess the early morning hours for Smerconish got to him and he strong armed management into his old time slot, like he strong armed them when they were going to can him several years ago. Good luck PHT. Hope the Phillies keep winning cause without them winning you’re gonna be hurtin.

January 4, 2011 at 4:38 pm
(110) Mary says:

Could it possibly be that the station dropped Beck and Hannity simply because they didn’t bring in enough advertising revenue to justify the cost? A purely capitalist business decision, but you right-wing freaks see liberal conspiracies EVERYWHERE, don’t you?

January 4, 2011 at 5:28 pm
(111) Dennis says:

I’m glad that beck and hannity will be gone. I tried to listen to them but if I want to be preached too I’ll could go to church. I would like to see Michael Savage do the afternoon thing from 3PM till 6 pm then Mark Levine. AlSO HOPE THEY DROP SMIKERNISH FROM the midnight hour and let Coast to Coast be one for the full 4 hours everynight 7 days a week.

(112) Patti says:

This will be your demise !! You have screwed up big time and your sponsors will not stay with you, you will loose listeners, and who wants to hear all the crap that goes on locally in Philadelphia….which by the way is all run by democrats and among the many cities also run totally by democrats who are failing and have been for years…check it out, it’s a known fact. My radio will only be tuned in to your station during Rush and that is all….compaired to 9:00am to 6:00pm…and for many years. I’m done with the BIG Talker !! Can you say “politically motivated?”

(116) sanity says:

Beck is bat-guano crazy and Hannity is a tool. Good riddance to bad rubbish and good for 1210 for dropping them both. (Rush still pollutes the local airwaves, but two outta three ain’t bad.) Smerconish is a middle-of-the-roader and a sharp guy; I’d much rather see him stay in mornings (this Stigall guy is terrible, and not just because he’s a carpetbagger), but good on 1210 for giving him the national push. Dom G plays in the GOP/Fox echo chamber a little too often for my taste, but he’s a decent guy with deep local roots.

January 6, 2011 at 6:46 pm

(118) Dave says:

I will no longer listen to 1210am. Beck, Rush and Hanity are the only voices of reason on 1210. It’s a shame to lose Beck and Hanity, I guess Rush will get the boot next. It’s a sad day when freedom of speech is being attacked. I hope sponsors of 1210 tune out as well.

Bye Bye Big Talker!!! Wont listen anymore!!!!

January 6, 2011 at 10:00 pm
(120) JeffThomason says:

Some of you are seriously delusional. Gee, you read that Hannity was the #2 talk show and Beck was #3. Have you ever actually seen their ratings in Philadelphia? If they were so good do you really think that CBS would drop them for political reasons? Delusional, brother. Why did WOR (Buckley) drop Beck in NY? Did CBS drop Beck and Hannity from all their stations? And why do you think they dropped Beck and Hannity but not Limbaugh, if it was a political decision?

Maybe CBS didn’t get high enough ratings or earn enough money carrying the same shows that are heard everywhere else and decided to create their own programming? Maybe that’s actually a bold move. As Mary wrote, maybe this is just the free market at work and not some vast left wing conspiracy.

Maybe you should listen to the new line-up before you condemn what the station has done. Maybe not doing the same thing as 400 other radio stations isn’t such a bad thing. After you’ve actually tried it and earned the right to criticize the changes you have plenty of places to find Beck and Hannity.

(121) alternatives says:

anyone who thinks they’ll miss Beck or Hannity has a clear alternative: hit yourself in the head with a brick for three hours a day … you’ll save electricity, and the net effect will be pretty much the same

(122) Rita says:

What a disgrace 1210 turned out to be. I will not listen, they will loose so many. Glenn Beck carried 1210 along with Rush.
Smerconish is a Liberal, he stinks and has nothing to offer, he bores me every time I tune in early. I start listening and turn him
off. Thankfully I can get Glenn & Rush on another Station. Won’t give 1210 the ratings. Beck gives us the truth, it’s what the people want!

(123) cecilia cecilia kodroff says:

I stopped listening to 1210 in the morning because of that
over opinionated jerk Smerconish now I will be forced to find

to be listened to should go back to the courtroom.

I love Michael Smerconish because he is moderate, maybe a more liberal view on some things and a more conservative view on other things. He is always open to different opinions. He isn’t afraid to be his own thinker. Thank God he is not a DITTO HEAD. Michael keeps local news first. He will find his audience, this country is full of people who want to a moderate voice on the radio.

I agree with almost all of the other X listeners. 1210 is now off my radio and I will be listening solely to XM where they still have the radio people want to hear. I had already stopped listening during the early morning because of Smerconish now your off all together. No Beck/ No JB and it appears I’m not alone. Later 1210.

(154) Sherrill Byrne says:

HUGE mistake!!!
I listened on my computer at work and encouraged so many others to do the same.
I will not listen to your radio programing anymore!
We need TRUTH being shared about our country.
Gosh, you really missed the boat on dropping Beck and Hannity!

January 18, 2011 at 9:16 am
(155) Guy S.Jersey says:

Smerconish over Beck? For real, player?Who ever made that decission should be fired today.Smerconish was ok in his time slot, but when he stopped driving his Ford pick up and sold out for Acuras and Jags he lost more than just listeners. Now I must go and clear 1210 from my presets.I will listen to Rush on my local station out of AC.

January 18, 2011 at 9:19 am
(156) Will says:

Who was the moron that came up with that idea? Double face palm. I listened to 1210 for 7 yrs, not anymore, no reason to. How’d that board meeting go? “hey, i got an idea, lets drop the #2 AND the #3 radio shows” and who thought that was a good idea!!!!!! Man people are brilliant.

January 18, 2011 at 9:59 am
(157) Debbie says:

Whoever made the decision to cut Glenn and Sean should be fired! Fortunately, I can hear Glenn on his website and Sean on 770 am. I’ll listen to Rush on 770 as 1210 no longer cares about the listeners. Very stupid decision…goodbye, 1210.

January 18, 2011 at 11:02 am
(158) Tomholu says:

I have been a listener for many years (decades). Based on your decisions and the changing of your platform, and your program slant I wll not listen anymore. Beck is the voice in the wilderness. Serconish over the last couple of years has clearly been leaning to the left. I will not listen or sponsor any of your advertisers. 1210 has been removed from autoselects in my car.

January 18, 2011 at 11:07 am
(159) Diane says:

Are you crazy? I like Dom but you should not have dropped Beck. I’ll keep my radio tuned to 990 from now on…..

January 18, 2011 at 11:15 am
(160) Jim says:

I was a regular listener to 1210. I am no longer. I am not a disciple of either Glenn or Sean, but I learn from their perspectives. Glenn seems sincere and trustworthy and encourages people to think for themselves. Hannity is an idealogue, but at least he is a conservative. I will miss hearing them on 1210. Smirkonish is so in love with himself I cannot listen to him. Good bye 1210.

(161) blklight says:

I will never ever again listen to this station. I am so disappointed!

January 18, 2011 at 1:34 pm
(162) Rev. Greg says:

Well it’s a shame 1210 AM is making this huge mistake! I listened to the internet version of WPHT,just to hear Glenn Beck because the WABE AM in Allentown, PA. is not the most powerful station. Now they will get my faithful attention. After all, Glenn is the only non-political voice, encouraging Americans to seek to change their own lives, to change America. Despite all of the phony criticism he is the voice of reason, who preaches PEACEFUL action above all. I miss WWDB FM which was superb in the old days, and the station that mad me fall in love with talk radio as a junior high kid.

January 18, 2011 at 1:55 pm
(163) Big Bob Warrington says:

(165) deborah says:

An unbelievable line up is what 1210 had. Now I see the impact that 1210 will accept with the National Radio. Good job losing listening, while trying to be PC. We have other options.

January 18, 2011 at 5:15 pm
(166) Doreen says:

You took off Beck and Hannity for Smerconish(who shifts any way the wind blows!) I have already changed stations immediately. Just search until I found Beck and Hannity again. It’s funny that is exactly what Glenn predicted!

January 18, 2011 at 5:49 pm

Yeah right….this lineup will work! I didn’t know Smerconish still had a radio show. 2 of the biggest names in radio broadcasting are out of a major city…umm…that is odd. With my iPhone app I will be still listening to Beck and Hannity.
Crash and burn 1210….

Sigh. Now, all that 1210 has left for me is Dom G., and I REALLY do like him, but, the only block is the 9 to 12. Is Dom streamable somewhere?

1210, this was a fatal mistake, and I am sorry to say that I will no longer be tuning in, your advertising dollars have just been curbed by this move.

(192) Maggie in Eagleville says:

Well, there goes another station off my list. I won’t listen to 1210 or 610, or watch CBS anymore. Keep up with your liberal agenda and watch what happens. Maybe that is why Fox does so well. You think you are pleasing the majority, but you will soon find out it is the minority.
Have a blessed day.

January 21, 2011 at 1:36 pm
(198) Antny says:

Sounds like part of the reason was they wanted to keep Smerkonish on somewhere. But, that had nothing to do with Beck. I will NEVER listen to them with the current programming other than Rush. Here’s an idea for 990 WNTP or whoever else, give us this lineup: Bill Bennett, Glenn Beck, Rush, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Michael Savage and Laura Ingraham. Great line up. Would push 1210 further down into the ratings dump.

Best move you could make, thank you

January 21, 2011 at 3:43 pm

(201) Joan Nathanson says:

BIG MISTAKE. I will not be listening to your station anymore, except, of course, for Limbaugh. You crumbled and I think you will have regrets down the line. Beck and Hannity tell the truth and the truth always prevails. I will find them elsewhere and Rush too!

January 21, 2011 at 8:20 pm
(202) Linda says:

So sorry to hear of the change in format. My car radio was always set to 1210 just to listen to Beck and Hannity. Not thrilled at all with Smerconish taking Hannity’s place–never cared to listen to him in the morning and now my radio will be tuned to another station for the ride home.

You made a BIG mistake! Good bye 1210, I won’t even listen to the sports anymore!! Sean Hannity and Glen Beck are great americans who tell the truth!!! Shame on all of you! No wonder fox news blows all other news channels out of the water, they give both sides!!SHAME SHAME SHAME!!My whole family use to listen, you lost about 77 listeners!!!!

January 21, 2011 at 11:02 pm
(205) Sig says:

Wow! What a shame…the Big Talker blew it big time by giving the boot to Glen and Sean. For whatever reason this decision was made to drop these two conservative voices, it was wrong. The Big Talker did a major disservice to the conservative audience in the Delaware Valley. I wouldn’t be surprised to learn soon that Rush will get the axe next. Other than Rush, the only use I will have for 1210 will be to listen to the Phillies. I hope you guys can exist through the next few months until baseball season begins. You still have the Phillies, don’t you?

January 21, 2011 at 11:09 pm
(206) Ed Birch III says:

You’ve lost another listener. I’m certain you will see your audience follow suit.

January 21, 2011 at 11:14 pm

Beck had the best ratings right behind Limbaugh. This wouldnt have anything to do with the new FCC regulations? hmmm…

January 22, 2011 at 11:58 am
(208) Lena Counts says:

I enjoyed listening to Glenn Beck. I believe Beck brings to the surface the true state of our nation and people in the background that have so much power and influence. I enjoy Dom DiGiordano as well. I will not be listening to 1210 as often though. May I recommend Dennis Prager, 12 noon, NEWS TALK WNTP AM 99… he is conservative (although this does compete with Rush Limbaugh), followed by Michael Medved, also conservative. Michael Smerconnish has evolved over the years… many of his opinions are left of center to entirely left. Although I do not agree with him, he presents his thoughts intelligently, and like Michael Medved and Dennis Prager, gives time for opposing opinions as long as his callers do not make personal attacks.

I am very disappointed that Glen Beck and Sean Hannity were removed. I don’t care for Dom Giardano or Michael Smirconish (spelling ?). I will be listening to 990 AM.

January 24, 2011 at 5:22 pm
(216) Lynn says:

I’m speechless that 1210 thinks the new lineup is an improvement over Beck and Hannity! I have tried listening to the new guys, but BORING and PEDESTRIAN best describes the new programming. My husband and are are both removing 1210 from our presets (we listened from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily). I still love Rush, but will find another station to which to give my ratings.

GOOD-BYE. I have the good fortune of being able to receive broadcasts from New York, Allentown, and Harrisburg.

However, I shall listen just ONE more time so that I can make a list of the advertised sponsors. Then I intend to contact them: “no business for you,” “poor ratings are costing you,” and “pressure the station.”

(228) Dennis Dragon says:

Sorry to hear Glenn Beck is gone. 1210 has lost a daily listner. Smirconish we could do without. Happy to see him gone in the morning. I am looking for a new station.

(230) Mike says:

You lost me.

February 1, 2011 at 11:12 am
(231) Nancy Redner says:

Whose idiotic idea was it to make those changes. The only reason I listen to 1210, other than the Phillies, was to listen to Hannity in the afternoon and I liked Giordano following him. I have not listened to Giordano since he has made his time slot move. I give 1210 6 months before they fold due to lack of sponsors. The only time you may have listeners is when Phillies play. Well it was nice tuning in to 1210 when you had interesting shows on.

February 1, 2011 at 4:25 pm
(232) Marianne says:

this was a conservative radio station. Who cares what a liberal like Michael Smerkonish says. I guess they do not need an audience because I am another person who will never listen again.

February 1, 2011 at 9:12 pm
(233) H. Davis says:

This was a bad idea. I have little reson to listen to people who have little insight into what is running my future. Smerconish is a LAWYER as are Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Waxman, and all the others including the Senator from PA who sold out all the people who voted him into office as a Republican. Yes I am talking about Senator spector who’s son is a trial lawyer making a fortune on malpractice law suits while his father takes all the republican votes and then throws them in the trash bin by becoming a follower of the Lawyer run democratic party, which refuesed to address malpractice frivolous law suits. Why do you suspect that I would want to listen to some local yokel who is a part of the legal system instead of a person like HANNITY who is taking on corruption and gives us the researched facts and Beck who gives us the researced connections which are involved in hoodwinking Americans with their clandestine attachments to people like George Soros. I will now listen to 990 AM to get the real news on these things. As I remember it. Dr. Laura was also removed from 1210 and One has to wonder why people of conviction and old time values are always replaced with unknowns.

February 2, 2011 at 12:58 am
(234) Kiddo says:

Well- I was a loyal listner but the change has really dismayed me. At least Rush is still part of the broadcast!

(235) Bob Lynn says:

I have tried your new programming and it does not work for me. I much prefer Beck and Hannity. I never did appreciate Smirconish. Great that you retained Rush.

February 3, 2011 at 10:17 am
(236) Mike says:

Smerconish???????? Really???? Who wants to listen to his liberal drivel? Beck and Hannity out for local flavor???? Yeah right, obviously some strigns pulled by Nanny Obama who doesn;t want to lose PA in the 2012 election. The CEO of 1210 must be a really business savvy guy to drop 2 of the HIGHEST rated show in radio history. Guess I’ll find a new station now. SAD COMMENTARY you liberal loons

While I love Dom Giordano, I’m so upset at you dropping Hannity and Beck. They are true consertive voices. At 3 PM I won’t be listening to 1210. I will lsten to Dom but never Michael. I’ll find Hannity where ever he will be broadasting.

February 26, 2011 at 1:34 pm
(247) jackie says:

Nothing personal against Dom Giordano, whom I’ve always liked and respected, but listening to 1210 is basically over for me now that they got rid of Glenn Beck, the ultimate seeker of truth. Hannity is a good guy also, but I’m not crazy about his style. I haven’t been able to stomach Smerconish in years. Could a man be more full of himself?

I’m very grateful that I can stream Beck’s morning show on my internet radio. The Big Talker can go down the road of net neutrality if it wants to, but I’m not going down with it. Losers!

March 8, 2011 at 5:40 pm

Taking Beck and Hannity off your station is a big mistake. Beck is one of the few who knows what is going on. What you have replaced them with is very boring. Do not listen anymore, I want to be informed and what you have on now is a waste of my Time. No longer a listener!

April 6, 2011 at 8:42 pm
(250) Tricia says:

I cannot believe they dropped Sean Hannity from the Big Talker. He was the only reason I listened to the station. I guess the way he spoke the truth was too frightening for most people. Sorry he is gone. I will be listening to the other station for Sean.

April 10, 2011 at 3:23 pm
(251) Lyn says:

You replaced Glenn Beck with Dom Giordano…..although, he seems like a nice guy, he is a sorry substitute for Glenn Beck…..I haven’t listened to your station since the change….I now listen to NJ 101.5….at least it’s entertaining and informative!! I thought you people were smarter than that….I also like Hannity but Beck was my favorite…..who got to you and gave you the Kool Aid to drink? Please bring Beck back! You’re making a big, gigantic mistake! Like I said before, I just flip the channel when Giordano come on…what a bore!!!

Count me out as well, what a stupid decision. Fire the program director. I will find Glenn and Sean somewhere else…of course.

So the regime got to you. You are a low life and coward.

Don’t think you’ll ever get your audience back, even when the conservatives take the presidency in 2012. We don’t forget. What then you idiots.
I get Levin’s podcast. That’s how I listen to him all the time.

Do like the station new schedule. I do not get to listen as often as in the past but as I see it. This is a good plan.

Only listen to Chris in the am slot! Great addition to the line up, the rest is a mess…as soon as Chris Stigal signs off, so do I and turn the dial to FM 610…what were you guys thinking!!! By the way, good luck with you new 12 noon line up, you’ll need it

Dropping Beck and Hannity is a good thing. Hiring Dick “I need a prostitute” Morris is horrific. Who needs some with the credentials of Morris. In bed with a prostitute while working for the Clinton admin and giving the prostitute talking points. Now that’s a real leak!!! Morris needs to go!!
