Follow me on:

Longtime Washington, D.C. radio personality, Mike O'Meara, is returning to D.C. morning radio. He'll co-host a new show with Kirk McEwen on Classic Rock formatted WVRX-FM (105.9 The Edge) beginning July 7, according to a station news release. (Screenshot: mikeomearashow.com)

O'Meara rose to fame with Don Geronimo over a 20+ year period in Washington on WAVA-FM and WJFK-FM. After the move to WJFK-FM, The Don and Mike Show went through various syndication cycles until April, 2008 when Geronimo retired for personal reasons.

In 2009 O'Meara lost his on-air gig at 106.7 The Fan and turned to podcasting.

In a tweet, O'Meara said: "I'm very excited about the opportunity to work with The Edge, Kirk & Shamrock and want you all to know that we'll continue the daily podcast."

McEwen has worked in Baltimore and Washington and joined WVRX-FM in November, 2009. His brother is CBS weatherman Mark McEwen.
