Soupy Sales Dead, Once Worked on Radio Between Don Imus and Howard Stern

Friday October 23, 2009
Soupy Sales has died at the age of 83. Sales was a comedian, TV host, and even a radio personality. Although his fame came mostly from "The Soupy Sales Show", a syndicated offering in the mid-1960s, Sales also has a radio claim: for a time he was the radio personality at WNBC-AM/New York between Don Imus and Howard Stern beginning in 1985. This WNBC-AM publicity photo features (left to right): Soupy Sales, Don Imus, Howard Stern, and Wolfman Jack. A larger version can be seen at broadcatching.wordpress.com.

On a personal note: Years ago when I worked in Chicago radio I had the chance to interview Soupy Sales on my show. He was a delightful, gentle, funny man.

WOW…what a great photo. The Soupy Sales Show was one of the funniest shows I ever saw. I was a huge fan of the show and the man. God bless you Soupy
