Hear Rush Limbaugh as a Top 40 Radio DJ

By July 29, 2009

Follow me on:

A couple of classic "airchecks" from 1971-72 of Rush Limbaugh on-the-air as a "Top 40" disc jockey have been put online. In the first half, Limbaugh uses the pseudonym "Jeff Christie" while on-the-air at WIXZ Radio in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.

At the time, WIXZ 1360 (pronounced WIXEE 1360) was playing "much more solid rockin' gold" and Limbaugh's voice and mannerisms are unmistakable.

Instead of Limbaugh's syndicated EIB Radio Network, he claimed to be broadcasting on the "Jeff Christie Radio Network". Among other bits, Limbaugh places a prank call to a power plant.

The second recording is Limbaugh jocking at KQV Radio (14 K) in Pittsburgh. Both airchecks are a great peek into the beginning of Limbaugh's career on radio.

Rush , you are being attacked by the media and are being denied the purchase of the Stl.Louis Rams becasue you are referred to by Jessy and Sharpton that you are devisive and racist. R$acism started with Jackson , Sharpton and Opra , the first two they pur sue that path for extortion ,Opra just for being devisive . Also I am sure you have heard about the band of ministers in Chicago who urging the candidates who are challenging Stroger not to run against him so that a white man will win if they did , If th shoe is on the other foot God in his Glory would have heard about the RACiSM that being spewed by the white ministers and your friend from Mathews msnbc will be chimming on.
