According to radioworld.com: "The current state of affairs [in Radio] has left The Nielsen Company with no other alternative but to immediately cease all services, products and events related to Radio & Records."
This has to be a psychological jolt to anyone in Radio who already knows what a difficult economic situation the industry has lapsed into.
R&R began publication 36 years ago and at one time was considered the weekly "bible" of the Radio industry with information about playlists, jobs, programming strategies, business developments, and more.
The publication took a mild hit in the mid to late 1990s when consolidation in the Radio industry drastically reduced it's classified advertisements for jobs and related services.

This is a sad day, but one you knew was coming. I can remember when R&R was about the only way to search for a new job in the business. On to bigger and better!
I think R&R really died when it was taken over by Billboard several years ago.
R&R can now stand for several things, including:
Rise and Ride
Recover and Restore
and those other forms that hopefully never become obsolete about music Regarding Recreation.
