A freak accident has killed a popular radio host from Orland. Erika Roman - known as Chula - was killed when a chair flew off a boat on the Florida turnpike. The boat owner, Timothy Debrecht, is now facing charges.
According to wptv.com: "...on May 1st Roman swerved to avoid the boat lounge chair that was in her lane. She over corrected and her car flipped several times before coming to a rest upside down in a deep canal."
Upon arriving at his destination, Debrecht called authorities to say his chair was missing, thought to be stolen. It was then he learned what happened to it. Debrecht will be charged with failure to secure a load resulting in serious bodily injury or death.
Roman was a co-host on the "Lil Shawn and Obie Morning Show" at Power 95.3 in Orlando.
