Savage claims he's been defamed by the British Home Secretary, Jacqui Smith. According to AFP, Savage was quoted to say, "...linking me up with murderers because of my opinions, my writings, my speaking -- none of which have advocated any violence, ever."

Savage was one of sixteen individuals named to the list for "fostering extremism or hatred".

Talk Radio Network, the company that syndicates Michael Savage issued this statement:

“The American way is sustained by the lynch pin of freedom of speech. TRN’s position towards all of its hosts is that of the classical liberal who says, ‘even though I might disagree with you completely, I will fight to the last breath to defend your right to speak freely.’ Sadly, the Brown government veers away from this, abandoning Britain’s principles and departing from the position of its own people.”

I think that the British have the right idea.
I wish we could ban him from the US!

Why doesn’t the British Government ban the terrorists who are such a threat to security in London. We know that these people are all Muslims so the stupid Brits just bury there heads in the sand and think that a ban on a talk show host is the way to go. What ignorance.

As a american of mexican descent, I have never felt that Michael Savage is any way racist towards my race simply because of his remarks on the illegal problem that we have here in the United States. Some forget that we live in a Democratic country which means that we have the freedom to express our opinion on any issue we see fit.
I respect Michael Savage for the love he has for the USA, and I’m angry that his name appears in England’s black list.

I respect Minerva’s thoughts about the greatness of living in a Democratic country.

In addition, this article makes me wonder about all the crazy stories and personal experiences of someone who was fired for ridiculous and unjust reasons.

If this does occur, the same can be said about the owners and management of Michael’s station who could do the same by riding radio of him.

So here is the rub, although this guy does provoke the destructive, knee-jerk dendencies of people who are fearful of the real world we live in; he is kept on air because he fetches a very pretty penny from advertisers, publishers and the likes.

Sure, all of humankind should have the right of free speech. Our right becomes a cop-out excuse for Talk Radio Network by hiding behind the right to free-speech as the reason they let Michael on the air, when in reality they relish in the greed filled profits from Michael’s verbal social sludge.

Why has that become of part of our American culture?

I too am of Mexican descent. Thank you and Peace.

Ms. Smith is obviously far too sensitive to be involved in government, politics, or the real world, in general.
Perhaps, the British Parliament can find better placement for poor Jacqui?
I hear the petting zoos are always looking for dependable help.
Or…she may do quite well writing children’s books.
