Liverpool, England has lost a radio icon: Phil Easton. Easton was a 30-year veteran and worked at various stations including citytalk.fm and Magic 1548 according to a tribute at guardian.co.uk. He was 59.

According to John Plunkett's article: "Richard Maddock, the station director for Radio City, Magic and City Talk, said: 'We are deeply saddened to hear this tragic news. Phil was an astounding broadcaster and friend to everyone here at Radio City, Magic and Talk. Our thoughts are with his family at this terrible time.'"

Here are some comments being posted at the citytalk.fm website on Easton's passing:
"...your voice brought smiles to our faces..." - Haydn
"...he could always cheer up a cold and dark morning." - Glenda
"...You'll be in my heart always..." - Lyn
