Phone-Pranking Palin: How The Radio Duo Did It

Tuesday November 4, 2008
How exactly did Marc-Antoine Audette and Sebastien Trudel, of CKOI/Montreal get Governor Sarah Palin on the telephone to pretend it was French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, calling?

According to what the DJs told ABC News: "Audette said the prank started with a call to Alaska. 'We started by calling the governor's office in Alaska, and after that, we were transferred from one person to another. It took us about four days. We spoke to about a dozen people, and that's how we were able to speak to her.'"

Palin's handlers fell for it and put the DJs through. The Vancouver Sun reports: "Palin, unaware she was speaking to a Quebec radio DJ and being recorded, talked for nearly six minutes as the conversation touched on topics such as a Hustler porn video made about her, shooting animals from helicopters, Dick Cheney's hunting ability, Sarkozy's 'beautiful wife' and how the French leader could 'see Belgium' from his house."

Listen: You can hear about three minutes of the call online.

Online: CKOI bills itself as "The Best Music in Montreal" and you can listen online at www.ckoi.com.
