Kidd Chris Fired Over Airing of Racist Song

CBS Radio fired Kidd Chris from is morning slot at WYSP-FM/Philadelphia over what was considered a racist song broadcast in March of this year. According to a spokesperson for CBS Radio, Karen Mateo, it was "...highly offensive and completely innappropriate..."

Chron.com reports: "The Philadelphia Daily News reported on its Web site Friday that it had obtained a transcription of the song's lyrics, which derided blacks and included numerous racial slurs."

WYSP Program Director, John Cook, was also fired.

so he never came close to howard stern in “racist” humor, yet stern was never fired. this type of humor and these types of songs have been a part of the show for the last 3 years on wysp. all of a sudden, someone noticed? bullsh!t. by letting kidd chris go, the station signed it’s death warrant. looks like we’ll have another rap/r&b toxin to listen to in a couple of months. funny thing is, all of his black listeners thought it was humorous. apparently, they don’t have a voice, just the real racist blacks who complained.

There are truth’s in sterio-types.Take the drunk Mick,or the stupid Polock or even the greasy Wop.It doesn’t mean that they all are though.Kidd Chris was the ONLY THING on testicle radio,sure there were a few times I cringed while listening,but that was part of the funnyness of it.Its just more of our freedom being stolen from us.Good luck Chris in where ever you wind up at,and Thomas….click!
