7 Reasons Radio People Die Younger

I think Radio might be bad for your health - at least if you work in it. Maybe you never noticed but I have: on-air Radio performers seem to die younger than they should. I've narrowed it down to 7 reasons why I think this business kills it's stars prematurely. Read more.

The psychological issues is probably the most understated underlying cause you’ve listed. There is definately a certain personality type who is attracted to this line of work. It is not conventional employment by any means and it doesn’t attract too many conventional people. That’s not to say that radio people are pathologicaly dysfunctional, simply that they for the most part share certain personality characteristics that are far less common outside of radio. These personality traits may also be linked to some of the other causes you cited, particularly the addictive behavior.
