Marc Fisher, who in 2007 wrote an insightful book on the evolution of Radio entitled, "Something in the Air", has written an excellent article at washingtonpost.com about the future of Radio.

Fisher writes, in part: "Online music providers such as Pandora, Imeem and Last.fm provide an early glance at that next chapter in radio history." Highlights of the article:

* Young listeners don't need the Radio industry (the old AM/FM structure) to tell them what's hip, they have social networks for that.
* Increasing evidence of iPod fatigue
* How Pandora, Last.fm, Slacker, and Imeem differ
* Apple might be poised to emerge as a Radio provider
