'Free Radio' Comes to VH1

Saturday February 9, 2008
Friday night (2/08), VH1 debuted a new TV show called "Free Radio", an improvised comedy. It follows a radio show intern, Lance, who gets a break hosting a morning show when the former host moves to Satellite Radio. (Right: "Lance" from VH1's "Free Radio". Photo Credit: © VH1.com)

According to a press release, "Lance's hosting effort (full of botched celebrity interviews, on-air tantrums and all around buffoonery) is so spectacularly awful that ratings actually go up."

Actually, in an era of "real radio", that sounds like the perfect formula to endear yourself to listeners. I suspect more real radio shows than VH1 imagines actually succeed doing just that.

You can see some clips of the show and view some "extras" at the VH1.com website.

OMG Get rid of the dork and keep the chick. He is freaking annoying. Put me on there and I promise at least you will have a real show.
