Satellite Radio Merger: "Ludicrous" and "Selfish"

Wednesday April 4, 2007
From forbes.com: "A report released Tuesday by the influential media research company The Carmel Group calls arguments in favor of a combination of the country's only two satellite radio operators 'ludicrous' and 'selfish.'

'If this merger were approved, every subscriber would be beholden to a single satellite radio monopoly, resulting in less service, less affordability, less diversity, and less choice in content and hardware,' the report said."

The report was created for the National Association of Broadcasters, which is opposed to the merger because it feels it will create a monopoly.
