WRKO Fires Talk Show Host John DePetro For "Fat Lesbian" Remark

Monday November 6, 2006
WRKO in Boston has fired talk show host John DePetro. WFTV.com reports: John DePetro called the Green-Rainbow party's candidate for governor a 'fat lesbian.' The comment came during Thursday's show." The story goes on to say, "DePetro told The Boston Globe he said it out of exasperation with the target, Grace Ross. He felt Ross and an independent candidate were taking too much time during a debate, leading him to say he wished someone would 'tell the fat lesbian to shut up.'"

Background: DePetro got into trouble back in July of this year for some of his remarks. See: Boston Radio Host Apologizes for On-Air Gay Slur

(1) Josie Sammons/Tecce says:

Would you have rather John call Grace a skinny beautiful lesbian? I can see why he was exasperated with the debate where none of the questions were answered because of screwy Mihos and fat Grace! We were all frustrated that the powers-to-be allowed those losers to take up air time! And, WRKO knows they did! But, I guess WRKO is showing a yellow streak now for the left, and not the station we conservatives have always loved! So, now Imus looks more on the conservative side than WRKO and with losing one of your more interesting and informative talk show hosts, you have also lost me, my husband, my friends and my family. Thanks!
