SIRIUS Satellite Radio Will Debut Internet-Only Version
Sunday October 15, 2006
Steve Gorman, writing for Reuters, reports SIRIUS will debut a new Internet Service of 75 channels, including Howard Stern. It's aimed at a global audience and since it's on the Internet, there's no F.C.C. regulation and SIRIUS can sell the programming outside North America - where it is only permitted to sell hardware receivers for it's satellite service. The price? Same as a standard SIRIUS monthly subscription: $12.95. Gorman says a formal announcement is planned Monday (10/16).
