Company Plans to Target School Buses With New Radio Stations

Monday June 26, 2006
From tbt.com: "A company will pipe pop music into public school buses starting this fall in exchange for the right to pair the tunes with age-specific commercials. Bus Radio Inc.'s plan, which would allow cash-strapped school districts to take a cut of the ad revenue, has drawn fire from watchdog groups and parents who say education and advertising don't mix -- particularly when the young audience can't turn it off."

''We were having discipline problems...It keeps the kids in their seats.''
That's a quote from Joe Elia, director of finance at Mashpee School District from a story at capecodonline.com.

Your Turn: What are your feelings about targeting school buses with special radio stations designed to reach your children? Vote or just see current results of this poll.
