New York Radio Listeners Reject "Jack"
Tuesday October 18, 2005
John Mainelli in this morning's New York Post reports the summer ratings for "Jack" - the format which replaced Oldies on WCBS-FM (101.1) - are not exactly what station owner Infinity Broadcasting was hoping for: 22nd place. Before the format change, WCBS-FM's Oldies format had the station in 9th place in the highly competitive New York City market. I'm told "Jack" lost half its audience in 12+ persons (people 12 years and older) and almost half its listeners in the station's target demographic, 25-54 years old. Ouch!
