New Jersey Radio Station Bans "Jethro Tull" Over Flag Flack

Thursday November 13, 2003
Classic Rock, WCHR-FM, a southern New Jersey shore Radio station near Manahawkin, has BANNED British rock band JETHRO TULL from its playlist. Axing the band was endorsed by listeners "99%" according to Program Director, Phil LoCascio, after Jethro Tull leader, Ian Anderson, said:

"I hate to see the American flag hanging out of every bloody station wagon, out of every SUV, every little Midwestern house in some residential area....It's easy to confuse patriotism with nationalism. Flag waving ain't gonna do it."
